Steam now officially supports Linux, yes you heard me, linux now gets mains stream support for games. So the question of not installing Linux for gaming reasons now goes out of the Window pardon the pun.
Too bad linux has become a boring kiddy OS that locks you out of everything as standard. It used to be fun OS, allowed you to do things simply by login in as admin and messing around. Now your more or less crippled the moment you install it have to hack your way in to your own OS to unlock its potential.
Still, the fun linux is still out there waiting to be unlocked.
Totally custom desktops that are unique to you were always popular on the Amiga and Linux but not allowed on Windows. With Linux as a main OS you can now have your games and customise your desktop and go crazy. Make your computer say "This is MY machine, THIS is what I like" rather than what Microsoft and Apple like and force on us. Okay they let us change the backdrop, big deal...... BORING, that is so... well windows... only Windows was ever that dull!
Next time I reinstall my main OS, Windows may not be the one I choose :)
So Devs, if you were thinking about making linux versions of your game and did not because you had no distribution method, nows the time to revisit those plans. Some of us have been waiting for this moment for decades.

I know sometimes it is hard to get your questions answered on other sites when you are a modder and you are stuck on something. I also know people leap to conclusions and often answer their own question instead of the one you asked. I also know the first reply to a thread can derail it and stop you getting any answers at all.
Providing you say thank you and providing we know the answer, if you ask a question about modding on our forums we will always answer or tell you we do not know the answer, usually your left with clues where to go next either way. It is my policy not to leave questions unanswered like that for too long if I spot them.
So if you are a modder of a game we support and do get stuck, sign up on the forums and ask your question.
I only have 1 request, do not ask how to mod Skyrim, that is like asking why the world exists, it we would be here all year answering that question. We can tell when a person is wasting our time because any serious modder knows how to do basic research on their own, they dive in to the editor BEFORE asking questions and when they do ask questions, their questions are usually very specific and easily answered.
Those who ask questions BEFORE getting the editor and before diving in typically never become modders. This is just a fact. So dive in, start modding, when you get stuck, remember we are there for you.

Dow found a newish video about the new Simcity game due out on March 5th 2013. In this version of the game some of the old classic elements of past Simcity games are retained by Simcity as it moves in to a new 3D era with highly detailed buildings replacing the old bitmap high resource, slow gameplay cities that existed in the last version of the game nearly 10 years ago.

I often hear noobies to mod usage, referring to mods as cheats and asking if it is ok to use mods. Given that many noobie modders only get in to modding to make cheat mods, it is not hard to see why a noobie to mods would think that. After all at the core of all modding communities is 1 player who does not like 1 feature and decided to change it. But ignorance of what modding is about is the only reason they continue to think that.
Modding is a creative art form, very much like painting or making music. Our canvas is a game, Our Gallery is your PC monitor. Whilst it is true some lesser talented people scribble out cheat mods, most mods are not cheats at all. And many of us modders use more than one canvas, meaning mod several games.

After asking people on the forum what they think about me supporting the Dawnguard DLC in future mods, I have come to the conclusion that given the way Steam works, it is best to make a new release rather than upgrade the existing mod release.
The reason is this, if I suddenly add Dawnguard as a requirement to the existing mods, anybody without Dawnguard that subscribes to my mods will suddenly find the mod crashes out their game before the main menu.
So instead of allowing that to happen, I'll rename mods like the Wizards of Winterhold to Wizards of Winterhold DG to reflect the fact it requires Dawn Guard and then abandon development on the none standard Wizards of Winterhold version so I can continue work on the Wizards of Winterhold DG version from that point on.

In response to several users asking me where to find quest NPCs in the NCR mod, I am releasing The NCR V2.5. You can download it from the guild HERE.

This version adds some Military Police to the terminal at Camp Mcarran, the Mojave Outpost, the NCR Embassy in the Strip, Camp Golf and Camp Forlorn Hope. If the player talks to these special Military Police men the player can get the rough location of all quest NPCs and a general idea of the quests they offer.

Here is a video that shows the game play features of Warlock Master of the Arcane. Warlock was released in the spring of 2012 but only came to our attention late last year. I picked it up in a Steam Sale and it turned out to be pretty good. So here is a video to show it off.
Enjoy.
