Thanks for all the comments from the last blog about this, from what I have seen the Hunting Lodge is the most popular idea so far and one that I think will make a good stand alone mod in its own right.
The idea Jonas put forward about having quests based around the player hunting down stories for the Bards College is a great idea and gives the voice actors guild a chance to really shine. Not sure how big this can be given the steam limits but I got quite a bit of dialogue in the Telvanni Hall mod so it should be interesting finding out.
The idea of going from tavern to tavern playing songs falls down when you consider every tavern already has a bard doing that and that the quests that play those songs are hard coded for those bards only. Just as the Dremora could not be a follower in the Telvanni hall mod for the same reason. So if I do that, I'll have to make another custom quest to handle custom bards.
Taking what Jonas said onboard, it might also be worth the player becoming a kind of an agent for the bards, getting gigs and stuff for them. Having performances played in cities with crowds of people near by. It might actually be more fun than disabling the players controls if he wanted to be a bard.
Thanks for the ideas Jonas, you got me thinking about it now, kick started the old grey matter :)
The Hunting lodge
Whilst not the most exciting idea, and exciting ideas get made first around here, the hunting lodge is perhaps a good mod for immersion and role play. Supporting a style of play that my youtube video shows has become very popular since I made a video about it shortly after Skyrim got released.
It has had 48,000 hits since it was made and continues to be one of my most popular videos. So there is no question that the demand exists for this mod.
Btw this is the video.
A hunting lodge mod should be much easier to make than most other mods too. But how to make it exciting... that is the question on my mind right now.

As for making a hunter lodge exciting, maybe add special creatures that have to be killed a certain way or that have unusual abilities? Like a teleporting troll! Or a special frost atronach that splits into tinier versions when killed and has to be whittled down.
It could be a simple stand alone mod, so something to do until the next patch hits.
