I have the lines for 3 quests posted in our Voice actor guild right now, but have stopped work on the mod to allow the voice actors to catch up because dealing with lots of lines for multiple characters sent in by multiple players gets complicated and needs to be handled with care.
Also I plan to regen the lipsyncs again since I found a slightly easier way to generate lipsyncs using the files I receive from players. Which is a job on its own.
When you do play the mod, spare a thought for the voice actors that worked their asses off recording and re-recording lines on what ever equipment that happen to own. Some voice actors have struggled in the past and are just getting to the point where they meet the min standard now and will be getting their first real break in Telvanni Hall. So be sure to give them some encouragement when you see them. Mr K has worked hard with them to get them this far, Mr K being head of my Voice Actors Guild and I think you players who will be enjoying a free mod can at least show your appreciation for these unsung heroes of modding.
Anybody who forgets their manners in respect to voice work will be banned or blocked on sight and can kiss good buy to anything we host here. Which may be everything come September.
This week end the Guild Wars 2 Third Beta will start and many of us will be joining the fun, that means nothing is getting done this weekend other than playing Guild Wars 2. Which if I am honesty, may usurp the buggy Skyrim as this sites main game in the future. Though it probably will not replace it. Without finding opportunities to be creative and artistic, eg modding. I find games too boring to play and tend not to play at all. So my gaming and my modding are 2 sides of my gaming coin, one cannot exist without the other.
I have already posted the official servers for the Guild in an earlier news item but have been told by a friend over at Egosoft that his group (mostly german speakers) have received word that some of the servers may not remain English at release time. So I may change our official servers if they stop being English speaking servers. Since we do not know if they will be resetting the game for the release, it may be mute anyway if we have to choose different servers again later.
One thing I know is, a lot of my modding and gaming buddies from other communities will be playing Guild Wars 2 as well and ALL OF THOSE communities are 1000% more friendly than The Elder Scrolls community, so any TES fans joining me that do happen to find them selves on the same server as my friends should enjoy the encounter. They are pretty cool upright folk over at Egosoft most days.
I always liked hanging out with them.
With the sad news of Jon Lords death yesterday (legendary keyboard player from Deep Purple, the band that gave us "Smoke on the water", and since I am a massive Deep Purple fan, I will be paying a tribute to Jon in The Telvanni House Mod. So expect to see Dark Elf Version of Jon walking about the hall offering quest.
One of those quests is likely to have special meaning in respects to the tribute but should not spoil the immersion.
A new Telvanni Hall WIP thread has been created to reflect the fact the mod is in production and is nearly a Version 1 release. If you have any ideas for an independent mages association with roots going back to house Telvanni, post them in that thread.
