I wanted to buy the wife a tablet and was looking at the current crop of tablets when she saw the Arnova 10 g3 for £150 for a 10 inch version. Being a buy 1 get 1 free type of person she insisted she wanted that one. So we get got.

The specs sounded good but I told her, you get what you pay for.

Turns out this Android 4 Table is not Google Certified and does not support Google Play and there for cannot get access to any of the apps on Google Marketplace.

What it does have access too is 100s of apps on the companies site which includes such brand new apps as the Chrome Beta, Google Market and a bunch of other obselete apps that either do not work or have limited functionality. 

The box it self has the words "None Certified" printed in tiny letters on the side, very easy to miss and the advert clearly says access 100s, not 700,000 apps. But the Android 4 OS label is printed right across the front of the box leaving people to assume it has full Android functionality when it does not. 

Nice ay.... even google listed it as supported when its not.

There are 1000s of people on google asking how to install Google Play on it so they can install apps and none of them know "none certified" means they are shit out of luck. What you see is what you get.

Nothing more.

In the end I went to www.arctablet.com and the used the easy method to flash the tablet and unlock the root. Meaning I made it so I could install Google Play and access the Google market play and the 100,0000s of apps.

I linked to the page that explains how to do it above. Now the table works as most people who brought it, expected it to work in the first place. The easy flash method actually very easy. Just remember to sign up to the Arnova's own apps store called Appslib by registering on the site first and then you can get what you need from there to get your self started.
