Nearly 3 Months ago on 8th Feb 2012 I posted this Navmesh Bug Video on Youtube and caused quite a stir over a 5 year old bug that had already killed off the Fallout 3 and Fallout NV modding scenes and was now about to do the same for the Skyrim modding scene unless beth took notice and fixed it.
On Feb 18, I reported on this site that Bethesda had said they would fix the Navmesh after they ignored my complaints and reports about it for over 5 long years. Since then we have heard a few mentions of a fix, seen a fix made and removed and now nothing but silence.
We know one Bethesda Developer said in an interview "The best way to solve a problem is to do nothing", well 3 months after Beth finally where FORCED to reply to any customers over the the Navmesh issues this bug caused to mods. it appears nothing is exactly what they are doing about it.
On the 18th May 2012 it will be 3 months to the day since they announced a fix was being worked.... as a person who brought the game to mod it after TODD Howard and others clearly said Skyrim would be moddable and as a customer who has repeatedly reported or asked about the navmesh bug for each game in turn and got completely ignored. I do not want to see Beth ignoring this again as they have done for 2 games already.
I think 3 months is long enough to fix a bug in a game thats over 5 years old already.
So where is this fix Bethesda ?
Time to remind Bethesda we still want a fix for this Navmesh bug so we can have our large mods for Skyrim.

IF you like mods, if you want future Bethesda games to keep their reputation as moddable games with all the benefits that entails, make some noise about the Navmesh bug, because if you do not, if you choose to leave this to others, you can kiss good by to Bethesdas moddable games because this is the death nail... the last straw, the thing stopping us from making those mods you have been waiting for.
Many got Skyrim expecting these mods and expecting to be able to make these mods, why should us modders trust Beth if they have already sold us 3 broken modding systems for 3 games. Why by a forth game when Bethesda have a reputation for leaving these bugs in place regardless of what was said officially about fixes.
Nobody trusts Beth to keep their word about bugs, they have a reputation for making games more and more buggy and fixing less than less issues. This is train thats about to wreck.
Fans of the Elder Scrolls should care about that enough to say something.
So get out there and be heard, do not let the most serious of all modding issues get ignored for another 5 years.
I would point out that within 6 months of Oblivions release I had released the large quest mod Kvatch Aftermath for that game. 6 Months after Skyrim is released we are still waiting for these fixes before we can make those large kind of mods.
I have to wonder if Bethesda are afraid of what us modders can do with their game if they fix this bug or if they realize just how many of our modding ideas they borrowed from Oblivion to make Skyrim the success it is.
Or what will happen if there are no good Skyrim Mod Ideas worth borrowing for the next Elder Scrolls game. I see the Elder Scrolls series becoming very boring very quickly without mods or the influence mods have on future Elder Scrolls games.
