Wizards of Winterhold Milestone reached

The first quest for the Wizards of Winterhold has been built and tested and works 100% of the time. I had to approach the idea for the first quest in a vastly simplified fashion to work around skyrims problems but once all the quest candy is added, you players may not even notice it has been dumped down. In fact it might even be an improvement over the original idea because it supports more styles of play.

Interestingly a thought struck me today about how Bethesda recommend people reading their wiki test levels. They recommend people COC to the level which is basically teleport there not walking there as we do. They mention doing this all over the wiki, never do they say walk to the level.

I test properly and I walk to my levels just like you do and I keep seeing this Navmesh bug, yet Bethesda with its team of highly trained professionals COC lovers, never do.... I wonder why :)

Anyway lazy professional testing practices aside....

The first quest is working and now needs the voice work doing for it and some additional excitement added to spice it up a bit and then it will be good to go.

The Skyrim creation kits error prone nature left me having to do a lot of fixing for things I knew I had setup correctly because for some reason the editor did not remember the changes. But after fixing them a second time, they remained fixed.

Compared to the last few days struggling with code I used all the time in Oblivion and Fallout, today was a breeze.

I have now sorted out all the doors to various ruined rooms and finished rooms as well as the Hall of Knowing's spare door. Which means once I have done the dialog for the quest and processed all 500 to 600 lines of voice actor stuff sent to me this week, I will be officially in the tidying up phase of my mod that comes right before the release of version 1.

The question now is, will bethesda fix the navmesh bug in my life time or will this mod remain unreleased because of it.

If you want to shake some branches in the Bethesda tree and get their asses moving on the Navmesh fix, now would be a good time to do it.
