I have writen a guide called "Noobie guide to Mod Load Orders for Skyrim" to help players understand what they are actually doing when they simply move a mod 1 place up their load order in Skyrim. Most so called experts do not even understand what they are asking players to do, so what chance do the players listening to them have.
Fact is the process is editing the mods before the game loads, without experience as a modder and expert knowledge of all the mods involved and how they work, the player doing that to them selves is setting them selves up for a fall.
This guide explains all that and tells you the 1 very simple rule that always works if you follow the official Bethesda system.

One additional thought in this vein is that if a mod has an ESM it DOES need to get sorted if the developer patches the game after the ESM is released.
I think an interesting subject would be when and why you should use an ESM instead of an ESP for your mod? My gut tells me only use a master when needed, so what are legitimate technical reasons an ESM is needed?
