Bethesda Legal Team Target Fallout 3 Fan

It appears the Fallout fan who owns Fallout3-Posters has been in a on going dispute over fan made art for the game that Bethesda consider to be a breach of their intellectual copyright and want it removed according to Gamespot UK. They are also demanding the sites domain name be handed over to them too which strikes me as wrong but more on Bethesdas fancy ideas on site ownership later.
Without knowing more details, its hard to comment but if this was just a fan art site running on fallout-posters.com hosting fan made art, then it strikes me that Bethesda should not be too concerned at all. So this all sounds very odd to me.
Bethesda have no rights what so ever to be targeting a user like that on his own website over fan material or demand he hand over a domain he owns. There is a modding scene which they support which is basically the same thing and does this all the time.
UNLESS the guy was selling Fallout 3 posters in which case I am not surprised Bethesda went after him. Beth are aggressive in this area in going after IP breaches but they do bend their own rules for some sites like Nexus.

The Guild is 3 years old today and the reasons for its foundation still remain just as relevant as ever. To understand the guild and why we do things the way we do, you have to understand what it was like before the guild was founded.
Having watched players doing as they please to me, my mods and my sites for years and having found the more I did for them, the worse they got. I quit supporting the Elder Scrolls community, I found my self no longer willing to make mods or the communities that did that or allow them on my websites. Those who tried to troll here gave me the nickname "He who shall not be named" once they found a new ISP after I reported their actions to their old ISP.
These days having enjoyed so many years of happy modding here at the guild for my own site users, without any trolls spoiling it, I am utterly unwilling to put up with it for any reason on any other site. Why should I when the guild is great and provides everything from a place to host my mods to a good community to share them with. Its always my choice... what I do, I do because I wish too and want too do it and my site users give me many good reasons for taking care of them.

It appears old school is cool after the indi game Legend of Grimrock got released and left a good impression on most players who have played it. The indi game had no forum at all yesterday on steam, today its 3 pages deep and counting. Most of the posts in it today are singing its praises.
This original style RPG system that got replaced by the 3D views because large developers thought thats what we wanted, yet this style of game never went out of fashion with players. It has always offered a unique way to play an RPG and many of the features you will see in the Legend of Grimrock that you recognize from modern RPGs actually date back to the golden age of RPGs where this type of game was more comment.
It is rare for a new generation of gamers to get a chance to play an brand new game that remains true to old school gaming principles whilst updating many of the ideas, but in the Legend of Grimrock, you have a very good example of one. I recommend you younger games give it a try.
What it lacks in old school flash, it makes up for by modernizing the core gameplay behind this genre of original RPG games.

News Updated: See the end of this post for the update.
I know you want my mods and you know I want you to have these mods or I would not keep sharing them with you despite the trolls. But we all know the trolls ruin it for everybody. They see no reason to behave so they constantly hammer at modders until the modders quit, removes his mods and leave you with nothing.
This has been a serious problem in the Elder Scrolls community for decades, they always drive away their best modders at some point. There has never been a reason for them to think twice about doing that and the thought that the modder may quit never crosses their minds until it happens.
So modders either put up with it or we quit, most quit and you lose their work for good.
We all know its better to punish the troll whos being bad, than every single user of a mod. So I am asking for your support in getting a way to do exactly that added to steam workshop.
I would like your support on this, if you agree, post a comment of support in that thread so steam notice it. Dont be rude, steam have introduced a lot of good features and their system continues to evolve. I want it to make the sharing of mods a pleasant experience for everybody, you and me.

It is the policy of this website not to make mods for trolls and has been for nearly 3 years. That includes people that are happy to see a modder suffer just so they can continue to download his mods.
The Wizards of Winterhold mod contains this in the docs and it has existed since day 1 and has always been 1 click away from any of my mod users. It clearly states exactly what will happen if people do what they did recently. Players where warned repeatedly to read it and I have always stated I run a troll free site and make mods for friendly users only. The trolls chose to ignore those warnings and troll anyway and now they have nothing.
Which is exactly what I said I would leave them with if they did that again. The Elder Scrolls community made decision to be rude to a modder and his work, ignoring the warnings in the process. Now they have nothing as a result of that decision and are crying about.
So lets look at the fine print shall we. The disclaimer in the Wizards of Winterhold mod said this.
