City Games have been a passion of mine for a long time, since 1980s with the Kingdom of Cedric which was a rip off of the BBC Kingdom game that was more or less the same thing. There are good city games and their are bad city games but all the best ones had something very special going for them besides building cities.
Simcity 1 had Godzilla
Simcity 2000 had archologies.
Caesar 3 had an authentic roman feel to it.
Masters of Olympus has an authentic Greek feel to it.
Immortal Cities: Children of the Nine had an authentic Egyptian feel about it.
The Tropico series has El Presidentia
The Anno Series has island trade and combat.
None of which should be confused with the light weight facebook city games... if you play those, they are Space invades compared to modern city games.
EA Voted Worst Company in America

The consumerist.com website runs a yearly vote on the worst company in America. This year Electronic Arts went head to head with the Bank of America, and you know how popular bankers are these days, and guess what, Electronic Arts won, consumers consider EA to be worse than Banks!
Now that takes some doing.
EAs need to make pathetic expansions for games like the Sims and then charge full price or even two thirds price for something that basically adds a few chairs or cloths to a game, or its need to mess companies around like steam which consumers do like and do trust or force everybody to use the horrid Origin system is no doubt the reason for them walking away with the "Worst company in America" title this year.

Just a heads up to the new games on steam that you might want to check out. First is Microsoft Flight, a free to play game that will make its money from DLCs. Meaning you can play it right now for free. I like this business model, you invest more in games you like than if you brought them out right, but you pay nothing for games your only mildly interested in. I cannot count how much money I have wasted on games I only played once. So this business model means if I like it, I really would not mind paying more for it and if I do not, then its cost me nothing.
So guess who is installing that tonight :)
Next is Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece. An indi strategy game that uses a game engine similar to the Ruse Iris engine. Very cool. This one is basically a sequel to Hegemony Philip of Macedon and owners of that game get a discount when from steam when buying Hegemony Gold. For Strategy fans this game is great. Do not let the indi title fool you, most original games come from indi companies and always have. EA and the like may not want you to notice that but as a gamer of some 30+ years I can tell you thats always been true.
Also the Egosoft SuperBox and all X games are on offer right now on Steam too. The offer will end in a few days of course. Superbox owners got a surprise last year when Egosoft gave the new X3 Albion Prelude to Superbox owners for free. We woke up to find an extra game on our list one morning. I got a new joystick so I'll be testing that out soon.

The Wizards of Winterhold V1.1 is available on Steam Workshop for download. Full documentation and a link to steam for the mod can be found in the mods own download area here at the Engineering Guild.
Version 1.1 includes a few fixed and a new quest, here are some details.
Summoner Quest:
Available from the Necromancy Teacher, this quest allows the player to be either a Dark Summoner or a Summoner of Light. Depending on which one the player choses he receives a reward each time a lost soul is taken care of. For Dark Summoners this is 70 points on the Conjuration Skill, for Summoners of Light this is 50 Points on the Conjuration Skill and 20 Points on the Speech Craft Skill. Both Light and Dark Summoners both receive the same bonus points, the points are just awarded for different skills.
Other fixes include.

Import news folks, Steams Skyrim forum is full of users using the new Skyrim beta and all are having problems. There is talk of saves not working and Nvidia ini tweaks being needed to fix things. Pixalation and lots of other issues. It looks bad. If your not signed up for the beta, you might want to turn off Auto Update for Skyrim for a while because in my experience, Beth will be releasing this beta in its current state in a few days whether it works or not.
To turn off Skyrim update, go to steam right click on Skyrim, select Properties and go to Updates. Then change the Automatic Updates to "Do not automatically update this game".
Then just watch the forums for new patches that do not trigger a wave of crash reports, then you will know when its safe to change it back to auto updates again.
Wizards of Winterhold Navmesh Bug

I have made the Wizards of Winterhold mod Public again so everybody can download it. Just one warning, if you do download it and explore it will break your game. All supported communities will get this warning so it should not be a problem for all the people I do support and do care about.
The original Navmesh bug video showing the problem.
However.... it might be a problem for all the trolls I stopped supporting today on Steam Workshop who having pissed off the modder with their endless complaints and whining are now going to have a very good reason to moan hehe... Revenge is a dish best served with pop corn and in the company of friends who get to enjoy the show too :)
Especially when Beths the one who broke the Navmesh not me.
Now then, for the rest if you, this is the situation.
The navmesh bug breaks the Wizards of Winterhold and can cause save corruption if you do quests whilst the Navmesh bug is active. I cannot fix it, its beth who decided its better to break every mod like mine than to have a single CTD. So we are stuck with Beths arse about face approach to fixing this bug.
