Telvanni Hall For Skyrim V1
By Giskard

Download link

http://steamcommunit...ls/?id=87448848

Introduction

200 years before the current Skyrim Time frame, the Oblivion Crisis came to an end and Red Mountain erupted, destroying a good portion of Morrowind. The Argonians took advantage of the Dunmers misfortune and Invaded Morrowind. Destroying House Telvanni in an act of revenge for years of slavery. Scattering the remaining Telvanni mages and wiping out the ruling family.

Or so they thought.

A sole survivor of the ruling family of House Telvanni, born around the time these events too place is saved and raised by the Argonians before moving to Skyrim to sell his wears in Riften, unaware of just who he is. A wrecked boat on the coastline near Winterhold holding the only clue to his real identity. Mean while other descendants of mages of House Telvanni attend the College of Winterhold.

Against the backdrop of those events, other Telvanni mages fled across land, down the Dunmeth Pass to Windhelm. Where they made their home amongst the down trodden Dunmer in the Grey Quarter.

200 years have passed since those events too place and yet the events remain within the living memory of the long lived Dunmer. Several of the Telvanni mages that fled Morrowind pooled their remaining wealth and established Telvanni Hall in Windhelm. A special place where the Telvanni mages could maintain their culture and beliefs and continue practising magic in their own way.

The now ageing mages know it is time to take in new blood and pass their believes and culture along to a new generation of mages or their culture will die with them. So they start accepting new members in to their hall.

But being a Dunmer is Skyrim is a hard life, the Nords are not exactly welcoming to the hard done by refugees and many Argonians still seek revenge on the remaining Telvanni for the enslavement of many of their kin during the centuries before the eruption of Red Mountain.

Being a Dunmer in Skyrim is bad enough, being a Telvanni is worse, but being a Dunmer Telvanni Mage in Windhelm... well that is what this mod is all about.

This is still a WIP so you may ask questions about the mod and post ideas for Telvanni/Dark Elf quests if you wish without restriction. Once the mod is released, I will expect you to have played it first.

becasue they are not a guild just a group i think this will give more room for becasue i want it or to increase my power other then the for the better of all kind of thing.

One idea i have for a quest, you are asked by one of the elves to aid him at first in a removal of a hidden seal on a dwamer box that has been enchanted to stop anyone getting into it. the box has long been part of his family and every mage from his great great grandad down to him has failed to open it. He is now almost dead expanding his life by.. dark magic most likly necromancy.

After collecting three seal fragments from dwarthen ruins in skyrim (him already having the last one) he opens the box to find a soul gem in it.

This black soul gem contains the soul of a long long dead mage from the dragon war, the mage prosses the dark elf and he magicaly flees.

Quest 2. After asking around the hall a secound mage tells you of the leagended of this mage who was said to have turned on the dragons and aided in the rebeilion untill near the end of the dragon war he swich sides again he was slain by the dragon that tricked him into swiching sides and a dragon priest sealed his soul in the gem where he became mad and after trying to ascape three times and killing hundreads his soul gem was sealed in the box.

You are sent to track down the mage who is hiding in a nordic ruin once the dark elf he has proessed is dead you take the soul gem and have to fight the pull of the soul inside (greatly weakening you untill you are rid of it) untill you get to the hall where a mage destorys the gem sending the soul to soul cerin or wherever they go.

rewards not sure yet,

Edit: @Giskard - working on more quest ideas in my mind for your mods, i am a writer afterall ;)

When you are inside the hall you hear rumours of a missing mage, it is said he spoke out alot about racesium in skyrim by the nord stormcloaks in the weeks before his disapearance.

You ask a copple of the mages about him and it turns out he had gotten on the bad side of a copple of the stormcloack commanders the night he "disapeared" and that these commanders are currently leading a pocket exploration in the Rift.

You travel to the rift and find this camp of stormcloacks to find all are dead expsept one who wounded muttering about shadows that feast on eyes and the people going mad and killing eachover in the dead of night. You explore the camp to find evedance of a mage vai some scattered burnt tomes tomes in one of the tents and the ale has been poisended.

You travel back to the hall and ask the quest giver more about the missing mage who was his close assosieate. it comes out that the missing mage was a master poisoner and allso a master at illusion magic and that the reson he is worried is becasue the missing mage had a dept to him (focusing on the fact the mages here are not a group and he cares more for his dept the if the mage is alive or not). he offers to pay you if you collect the dept and points you towards a old hideout in the rift now that he knows he might have been there.

Once there you talk to the mage and question him, he tells you he hates the nords for there raceisum to his people and that the merders where due becasue they have killed dark elves. you then can leave him alive ending the quest and forging the gold reward because he will not pay his dept saying he is forfilling it by avenging the Telvanni who have been treated as dirt by the nords. or you can kill him and collect the dept from his person.

If you dont kill him my gess he can teach you a little about illusion magic or give you a illusion spell tome or something.

Edit: the idea with this one is to try and highlight the racesium problem in skyrim wich althouth is showen to me i think its not as highlighted as it should be.

I like where your going with your ideas mate, nice work. :)

Btw any new quests will be for the Jon Lord character, he will be the mods main quest giver, the others are side quests.

I have just finished testing the first 4 quests and making them player proof, eg so the player cannot break them by escaping out of dialogue etc and everything is working. That means work on the Demons Eye quest will start tomorrow.

I said Version 1 of his mod would have about 5 quests in it, well my bad, I just finished the 6th quest and have plans to make some more so you may have to wait a little longer for the release. Not that I expect anybody will mind me delaying the release for more quests :)

Quest number 5 has its voice lines posted in the VA Guild right now but Quest 6 and 7 just needs my voice because I deliberately designed it so not to flood the VA guild with Voice Lines. Even though making quests is harder than recording lines for them, I can still make quests quicker than most people can record lines for them.

So I have to be careful.

And yes I did say Quest 7, its done and dusted, just need to clean up my own voice lines to finish it off.

Anyway the last few quests are combat quests so there is some action in the mod. But some quests are not strictly combat and can often be done without combat at all.

Its a good change of pace to through in some combat quests, since the others are quite involving, the new simpler ones will fit in well, they involve killing stuff and carry the plot a long a little more:)

I have given my self 3 quests to finish off the Demons Eye Quest line, I want it to finish by offering the player a reward that is worth keeping and I am thinking that a Dremora companion might be cool.

During the next 3 quests the player needs to take on the Eye, Beat him and collect his reward.

To that end, i have made a post in the Voice Actors Guild asking for test lines for a Dremora to be posted. Here is the link, if I get some good submissions, I'll probably go a head with this plan. Otherwise I'll have to think up some other plan instead.

http://www.theengine...-dremora-voice/

This will be the equivalent of Mary from Origin of the Mages Guild, I'll probably let the player configure him too.

The video you posted was awesome, Gis. We will be torn between living in WoW or Telvanni Hall.

I suppose we could commute? Go to work with the Wizards in the Dark Roads after saving the world (again) with the Telvanni?

It is a good video, shows a nice amount yet keeps back the spoilers.

This mod is sounding very good, and could be as big as the vanilla guild quest lines.
Is there any idle chat between npcs about Morrowind? Or is it all quest related?

I like the idea for the reward, I think more should be done with dremora. A Dremora companion would be great for my mage, as I am moving into conjuration now.
I added my lines to it.

Perhaps a alterantive to a Dremora could be a silent Atronach of your choice? Basically a silent companion.

I am still playing Guild Wars 2. I loved playing Oblivion. I enjoy playing Skyrim.
Guild Wars 2, Oblivion, Dragon Age Origins and then Skyrim. In that order. I think that covers everything important?

DOW

Steams 100meg upload limit means I dare not waste space on that sort of thing, sorry.

NOTE to ALL:

After this mod gets released, check Ogmund, he is one of the people you can have follow you around, if you get him to follow you but cannot dismiss him. Let me know. I accidental edited his dismiss end result box, which in turn edited the script and script edits do not appear as mod edits so cannot be fixed in the normal way.

Its complicated but basically scripts are external files now and cannot be fixed the old way, so I edited it back, removed the pex file which I think is the version it shares with you so I am hoping you will not get anything now or if you do, you will get my fix which is an identical copy to the original.

Anyway let me know if anybody experiences issues with Ogmund after this mod is released.

Updated:

The above post should be a clue about what I have been up too.

Short version, I have working Dremora Companions, which is not minor feat given only standard races are supported by the follower feature normally and I had to build my own system and interface with the existing one to get the Dremora to work at all. The Dremora is going to be one of the quest rewards for the Demons Eye Quest line.
