Yes, I saw this too on Gamespy's twitter. The general verdict there was: PR gimmick to make up for lousy reputation! I do support crowd funding though, as written elsewhere on the site :)

It printed a test page. It printed out something from the Internet. It tries to print from Word Office but nothing prints.

It prints out blank pages. There is ink. I guess there is an incorrect setting but I don't know which one.

Yep, I know, but there is gonna something to make this possible, like third party addon. I also think mods will be released for D3 even if it is prohibited, like they are for D2. But it's gonna take years for all this. Good thing we have Torchlight 2(from origianl D1 and D2 makers) coming soon and Grim Dawn(from Titan Quest makers) not so soon but also coming.

The main trick will be finding a way to store characters locally.

Well technically it is possible, by emulating bnet and storing chars in some kind of DB like MySQL. There is an educational emulator for this, though it supports beta only.
