[SOLVED] Guys, when I tried to generate VO local I got this error message in the log. Can someone tell me what's wrong?
![]() I'm guessing it got something to do with my Windows XP, I tried to open the speech function in Control Panel but it doesnt open up when I clicked it. I already googled it but cant find the answer. --> Managed to fix my problem. It appears I had a registry problem with SAPI5.dll, fixed that and everything is working back as it should, even my speech tab in the control panel is working now. I did not try doing voice work in DA but that looks like it failed to create the mp3/wave or what ever it uses. So perhaps looking in to whether your codex are right might help. If a codex is needed to make a file like an mp3 and your missing it or using some custom version, that might explain the problem.
Or it might be a bug in the toolkit, more likely theres some strange and massively complicated process to follow for each voice line thats not been explained so far. -------------------- ![]() Sometimes I wonder if we as a race climbed out of the tree or fell out of it, or if the smarter part of our race were the apes that remembered to hang on to the branch. |

Thanks GM for the reply. Actually I was using SilentCid's tutorial to learn this, I hit a bump when I reach the part where I need to generate generic VO. When I proceed further and tried putting in the custom VO that he provided with his tutorial. Voila, it works. So I think it's probably my Windows XP that's causing the problem.
This is a part that I take from the wiki: Placeholder voice over can be generated automatically by the toolset (using the default Microsoft text-to-speech engine that comes with your OS). I'm guessing somehow in the past 3 years since I got this PC I had somehow messed up my Microsoft TTS, as I can't open it via the control panel. -------------------- Est Sularus uth Mithas

Sounds like you can replace them with your own voice work anyway, sounds like the place holders are simply not being created but they are place holders and not finished files. -------------------- ![]() Sometimes I wonder if we as a race climbed out of the tree or fell out of it, or if the smarter part of our race were the apes that remembered to hang on to the branch. |

Yes you can put up your own voiceworks to make up if you can't generate a generic VO. Anyway I just managed to fix my problem. It appears I had a registry problem with SAPI5.dll, fixed that and everything is working back as it should, even my speech tab in the control panel is working now. -------------------- Est Sularus uth Mithas

[SOLVED} Alright next questions.
I managed to add in a custom head morph as a character preset in-game without replacing any of the originals. The problem is I found out that it breaks the colour slider, so I can't change any colour e.g skin, eye, tattoo etc. Deleting that head morph do revert that problem though, so any thoughts on what I may have missed out? --> I probably had mess up the xml form when I enter the new file name. So I just used an XML editor instead Just to pass some time. Here's my new character
