That's fine, Miss Wilde.

I've got a story idea that's suitable I'll be posting something soon.

If I do decide ever to push the limits I'll pm you first and ask if I can email you the story so you can judge but this first story won't be anywhere near the limits.

Thank you Lalwende for taking care of the question. I have been caught up in real life, and have for three weeks not had the opportunity nor time to reply as I should. My apologize to you Stabs.

It is, just as Lalwende pointed out a matter of differences that not can be set from one rule only. I can see from your point of view, that you do not want to extend the rules on purpose, but at the same time want "the writers freedom" to tell YOUR story. This is a fine balance, and sometimes we have to make decisions that not always is very popular.

Please PM me when ever you want. Of course I will help you. smile.gif

While I don't see myself posting any writing for some time (have little and it's scatted across multiple notebook/pseudo journals) Got no probs offering proofing services. Am good at spotting syntax/context errors as well as being a quiet spelling freak. And while spell check will catch most, it wont catch words that sound the same but mean diff, break/brake, they're/there, and such. But I wont parse a sentence for you tongue.gif can't recall that silliness from school and think am better for it. Limited RAM upstairs you see.

Do have some poetry, tend to the freestyle, seriously inspired by Sandburg in youth, even wrote on that my teacher lost (ARRRRRRRGH) that he said other staff mistook for Sandburg (yays), also love Robert Service, took me ages to be able to read The Cremation of Sam McGee out loud with out ROFLMAO.

Way outta practice on the writing part, lost 99.9 percent of everything I did when accidentally gave a disk that had them on it away with others, and my ex decided to throw out my off-location hard copies I kept with her for 'safety', when she left me rather then give them back. Took wind outta my sails and rarely wrote again. only a handful in last 15 odd years.

Thank you Sleel. smile.gif All help is very much appreciated.

Our main goal is to get people who want to write, be encouraged by others.

There will always be a difference between skills, abilities, creativity and engagement among our writers. We therefore, as the first thing, try to make everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. Secondly, we try to listen to what kind of feedback each an everyone is after.

Because we have several none native English speakers here, we are not very particular with the correct English grammar, but only if the author asks specific for advices. Of course, if we spot something that may look as an unknown failure, the authors so far, have appreciated a suggestion of word for exchange.

To speak for myself, I would very much be allowed to use you as an advisor.

Lalwende was the one that got me into posting at all as a noobe. And Nowena has even from the beginning, been a big asset to my development, and will be in the future too. But she has a lot on her hands as it is, so instead of asking her "all day long", I usually read her posts thoroughly, to pick up phrases and words.

As you might have noticed, I still have very small knowledge in English writing. Basically, it hinders me to participate as much as I could have wanted in various discussions. So I would really appreciate if you could give me hints now and again, if you spot things that might be put .... more elegantly .... smile.gif

Well, for this I was meaning more for what people wrote for mods, as unintended clunkyness can yank you out of the immersion. Their creative writing for themselves or the enjoyment of others, I tend to leave be since clunkyness can be intentional, or accidental, but working (clunkyness not a real word, btw). Poetry, I almost will never touch, as the 'construction' of the poem is almost, sometimes more, important then the grammar.

one would be 'non-English', none, means 'zero, nothing...', while 'non' is basically another form or 'not' and it is actually the kinda thing I meant more. Words that are proper, but in wrong context, so spell checks wont catch them.

Sleel

Also don't mean to be pert in pointing it out here. I would assume most would like that kinda stuff pointed out in PM before posting. Generally I understand what words mean by context from lotta reading in my life (painfully shy loner, IRL) so am bad at giving 'dictionary definitions'. That's why my definitions of none and non are kinda lacking.

Welcome to the writers guild. I'll be much more active here from now on. So you can expect to see me here when you have posted your work. It's nice to see yet another writer showing up. smile.gif

Yes, it can be all kind of writing. But as you said, it has to be within the guilds rules. And please be sure to rate you piece properly. smile.gif

And no, it has not to be game-related at all. You can post what you want in any genre.

If you're expecting a certain kind of comment, just add what you want us to look for.

I really hope you'll enjoy this forum. smile.gif
